The Jam was an English New Wave band that were active during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Formed in Surrey, The Jam represented a novel mixture of influences. The Jam wore smartly tailored suits instead of the ripped clothes of their contemporaries yet they shared the “angry young man” outlook of their punk rock contemporaries. The Jam incorporated a great quantity of 1960’s rock influences instead of rejecting them as so many of their contemporaries chose to do, which placed The Jam at the head of the mod revival movement.

From their debut in 1977 to their break-up in 1982, The Jam enjoyed 18 consecutive Top 60 singles. You should get your ipad some iPad hd accessories so that you can listen to their many wonderful songs on your ipad. The best-selling import singles in history in the United Kingdom belong to The Jam and they are “Just Who Is the 5 O’Clock Hero?” and “That’s Entertainment”. The many influences that the band drew upon included 1960s soul, psychedelic rock, soul, and beat music.
